Plastic Consumption Highest in Saudi Arabia among the Middle Eastern Countries
|
Recent surveys have shown that Saudi Arabia possesses the highest per capita consumption of plastics in the Middle East region. At 40 kg a head, the survey puts Saudi consumption of plastics at twice as much as all other GCC countries combined.
Rising income, and a growing population, continues to fuel demand within the food and beverage and consumer goods sectors. This consequently drives up the demand for plastics.
Food and beverage packaging, household goods, consumer goods, and construction materials are just a few of the plastic products that are in demand.

Construction and Real Estate Boom Adding to Plastics Growth
|
Massive construction of private housing and commercial centers, mega real estate development projects, industrial parks and economic cities, restaurants and hotels currently being built will all require the latest in plastic products. Just in the capital of Riyadh alone, over half a million housing units are in urgent demand and will be launched next year. A wealth of plastic products will be required, for both internal and external utilization, and key decision makers, industrialists, and developers will attend Saudi PPPP for the latest products
to meet their needs.

Abundant Supply of Cheap Raw Materials and Low Energy Costs Helping Plastics Expansion
|
Consumer demand boosts the plastic sector’s growth, but it is also aided by an abundant supply of cheap raw materials and low cost energy. The industry is so strong that it is only second to the country’s world-renowned oil sector. This
dramatic expansion, along with predictions of long-term growth to come, has created a wealth of opportunities for plastic manufacturers, traders, investors from across the region and around the world. Government investor-friendly
initiatives have helped grow foreign investment. Among them is a reduction in corporate tax for foreign investors, generous subsidies, finance plans, and full foreign investment ownership rights.
